The Hunt Is On!

Every year, since our kids were able to appreciate it, my friend Laura and I have an egg hunt for Easter. Now, I really shouldn't say "Laura and I" because she really does all of the work. In fact, this is the first year I actually helped with anything!

Laura is great at coming up with unique ideas for the kids. In previous years, we were lucky enough to have nice weather and no snow so the kids were always able to search for their eggs and baskets in the yard. Well this year was slightly different. Because there was still a good 4 inches of snow on the ground we had to improvise a little . . .

Since all we could really do was hide the eggs on top of the snow - it wasn't a real challenge for the kids to find them. So, Laura came up with this great idea to hide presents inside the house. The cool part was that each kid had to find as many presents as their age. Kadin had to find four boxes and Bella one. It was a great idea and the kids had a great time looking for their boxes and counting them to see if they found all of theirs. They were running around like crazy trying to find all their presents yelling in excitement when they found one. It was so much fun.

It was a truly great time for the kids and a great time for the adults. I'm not sure who had more fun me or my kids. I am very thankful for those traditions that I hope my children will remember for years to come. What a blessing to have fun holiday traditions and great friends to share them with.

Thanks Laura and Jared for your hospitality! I can't wait for next year!
